About Patrick

Patrick Price enjoys developing bold, new voices into books that both entertain and challenge readers, including the revolutionary He’s Just Not That Into You by Greg Behrendt and Liz Tuccillo, the New York Times-bestselling memoirs sTORI telling, Mommywooduncharted territTORI, and celebraTORI by Tori Spelling, Gunn’s Golden Rules by Tim Gunn, and the perennial “new mom” favorite, Sippy Cups Are Not for Chardonnay by Stefanie Wilder-Taylor. He particularly likes to blur the line between humor and other categories.

A self-professed pop culture junkie, Patrick’s eclectic list and editorial versatility include prescriptive and narrative nonfiction in the categories of relationships, modern parenting, celebrity memoir…and whatever he finds refreshingly irresistible.

Patrick graduated from The College of William & Mary in 1993, and soon after made New York City his official home to begin a career in publishing. After completing NYU’s Summer Publishing Institute, he joined Ballantine Books (an imprint of Random House), where he rose through the publicity ranks to Senior Publicist while developing a special talent for nurturing author relationships. In 1998 he moved to International Creative Management (ICM) to learn literary agenting from the best, and during his tenure there he authored two humorous relationship books published by St. Martin’s Press, Husband Hunting Made Easy (1998) and Drama Queen (2001). Patrick excitedly joined Simon & Schuster as an Editor in 2003 to help launch its entertainment and pop culture imprint, Simon Spotlight Entertainment (SSE), where he was promoted to Senior Editor in 2006. In spring 2010, Patrick elected to become a freelance editor, co-/ghostwriter, and book doctor. In 2013 he co-/ghostwrote the novel The Star Attraction with actress and TV personality Alison Sweeney. Most recently Patrick served as Editorial Director of Simon & Schuster’s YA imprint Simon Pulse, where he published such authors as Sarah Ockler, S.E. Green, Tom Leveen, Lauren Barnholdt, Tara Elan McVoy, Rhonda Helms, and Ann Redisch Stampler.

He now lives in Brooklyn, New York.
